VOTE WITH YOUR MONEY (real consumer protection)

Again today I practiced real solidarity with what I would say is "the little guy". I frequent my local Westerly Market which is less expensive, easy to navigate, always stocked and better staffed than other big supermarkets such as Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. There is an atmosphere at my little market that is so calm and comfortable. Even though the aisles are only about 18" wide and packed to the roof,  I still find everything that I'm looking for without having to wander around for miles searching. Anytime i ask for something the salesperson walks me to the item instead of just pointing and saying the aisle number. I know from examining virtually everything in the store that at least 85% of the products are nutritional enough that I don't always have to check the labels anymore for hidden ingredients. I also shop at this store because I choose to be a participant in the support of local businesses that are obviously interested in the health and well being of its customers. Although It's hard but not impossible to find a GMO in the store. It's a given that I will be buying organic at Westerly that makes me happy not only because I love my body but because I want these little stores to set the course for future generations to know that "the little guy" can compete and that as consumers we don't have to give in to price gauging or fake foods .I like this and it makes me feel good to support this little store. This week Westerly teamed up with Groupon to offer a voucher that entitled the shopper to $30 worth of groceries for half the cost of $15. Now I really feel like my store values and depends on me and my loyalty. So thanks to Westerly Market and Groupon for trimming my grocery bill down from a usual $40 a week cost to just $10 this week.
A person can pretty much live on a shoe string in NYC once they cut out all the bullshit like fine dining, shopping, shows and clubbing.
